MINISTRIES & PROJECTS

All 4 God Youth Group meets every 1st and 3rd Sunday at Center Bethel Fellowship Hall from 3-5pm. This is a ministry for ages 10 to 18. These high-energy, interactive, and social meetings, events, and activities are geared toward having fun in the Lord all while helping kids grow in their knowledge of the Bible, develop their spiritual formation, and learn to walk as a believer in their families, schools, and communities. The mission of the Sharpening Stone Men’s Ministry Team is to encourage, equip, and energize men as they serve their God, families, and communities, becoming all that God has purposely designed each man to be through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, engaged in discipleship, practicing leadership, and living in obedience to the inerrant Word of God. This group meets at Center Bethel every second Saturday at 8AM for breakfast, fellowship, and devotion followed by a brief business meeting. This group is open to all men and boys. This group regularly engages in service projects in the community (especially to assist widows and orphans) and raises money through fundraising and donations to help those in our community who are suffering from a loss or find themselves in need of resources or labor. For more information about this group please contact the men’s group leader Larry Gross 724-984-1415.

Well Watered Women is a disciple making discussion group that meets on Saturday monthly at 10AM at the Center Bethel church. This group is open to all women and girls. This ministry group focuses on the triumphs and trials of walking the Christian life as biblically-based women in today’s world and is dedicated to providing encouragement and support for living a Christ-centered life in our homes, workplaces, and circles of influence. The Center Bethel Church Food Backpack Ministry provides free prepare at home food items for students in need of the Southmoreland School District. The purpose of this program is to assure that identified children of risk do not go hungry throughout the evenings or weekends and holiday breaks away from school when other food options may not be available to them. This program is supported by individuals who generously give donations to support this ministry and is bolstered by Scouting for Food events by local Scout Pack/Troop 151. If you would like to give to this effort or offer assistance to pack or deliver these backpacks to our schools weekly, you can contact Kim Semon, backpack ministry coordinator: ksemon@zoominternet.net

The Center Bethel Church also is very active in packing and transporting shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child project. This church has been participating in this program for decades and with partnerships with our Sunday Schools, Scout Groups, and generous individuals to provide hundreds if not thousands of shoeboxes for needy kids throughout the world. If you would like to pack a box, participate in a packing party, make a donation, or be part of this in any way, please contact the Center Bethel Church office to find out how: office@cbcog.org To discover more about Operation Christmas Child or Samaritan’s Purse then go to: www.samaritanspurse.org

Love Your Neighbor Day is an annual event but a yearlong commitment of the church to pray for, support, and love on our neighbors in the community. At least once a year we will go and do service in the community in place of our worship service. We go and literally be the hands and feet of the church for that morning. We typically do service evangelism projects involving going door to door in a local community, giving small tokens of our love (usually in the form of cookies) and talk and pray with our neighbors. We also conduct prayer walks at our schools, give to those in need, minister to and provide quarters to those in the laundromats, and the youth place “little Jesus” figurines with “Why?” cards attached — all these efforts are directed at pointing folks to Jesus and inviting them to be part of the Church Universal following Christ. To find out more or take part, contact the church office: office@cbcog.org

At Center Bethel we also encourage everyone to get connected in some kind of small group or life group ministry either within the church as part of our ministries, Sunday School classes, or Bible studies. The Christian life is not meant to be lived out in solitude. There are several of these groups led by disciples and disciple makers that meet regularly outside the church on porches, living rooms, and around kitchen tables. To find out more about these groups, to join them or to start one, please contact the church office: office@cbcog.org and we will help get you connected.

At Center Bethel we encourage everyone to live within their means and practice good stewardship of the resources that God so graciously gives us. In support of that we offer Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University periodically to give people the opportunity to learn about and then use biblically-based principles to break their bondage to debt and have true financial peace. To find out more or to request another offering of this mult-week workshop experience, please contact the church office: office@cbcog.org

The Center Bethel Scrapbookeeping Ministry meets in the CB Fellowship Hall one weekend a month and also has a Scrapbooker Camp weekend at Camp Sonrise Mountain. You can join them for food, fellowship, and faith as you learn about and participate in the art of scrapbooking from people with experience and know how. To get more information about meeting times and activities please contact Sue Summy at butch_sue@yahoo.com
